Thanks for using Dropbox! Here are the user-visible changes in v86:

  • Users will find a toggle button to open and close the sidebar when viewing a file preview within the desktop app.
  • Your personal team member folder is moved to the top of the folder search filter.

Hello,

libdropbox_nucleus.so seems to contain undefined instructions (UD) causing Illegal Instruction (SIGILL):

@papachric It looks like you're attempting to run the 32-bit Dropbox client. Are you on a 32-bit OS?

Hi @samertm,

😀😁😂😃 Seems you assume @papachric run on 64-bit Linux. Am I right? In such a case, is there any reason such thing (running 32-bit Dropbox) to be a problem? 😆

Next time, think before posting! 😉😇

ADD: Even more: In 64-bit Dropbox NO any one submenu (for example "Recently Changed Files") of the main menu is visible. This BUG seems is fixed for 32-bit Dropbox version (in both cases - running on 64-bit Linux). Please, fix 64-bit Linux version of Dropbox!

The x86-64 version of libdropbox_nucleus.so also does the same, just with a bit more noise.

By the way, here's the ldd against the 32-bit version of libdropbox_nucleus:

linux-gate.so.1 => (0xf76ef000)
libdl.so.2 => /lib/i386-linux-gnu/libdl.so.2 (0xf5ebc000)
librt.so.1 => /lib/i386-linux-gnu/librt.so.1 (0xf5eb2000)
libpthread.so.0 => /lib/i386-linux-gnu/libpthread.so.0 (0xf5e96000)
libgcc_s.so.1 => /lib/i386-linux-gnu/libgcc_s.so.1 (0xf5e79000)
libc.so.6 => /lib/i386-linux-gnu/libc.so.6 (0xf5cc8000)
/lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0xf76f0000)
libm.so.6 => /lib/i386-linux-gnu/libm.so.6 (0xf5c82000)

and against the the 64-bit:

linux-vdso.so.1 => (0x00007fffed6c6000)
libdl.so.2 => /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libdl.so.2 (0x00007f2f52228000)
librt.so.1 => /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/librt.so.1 (0x00007f2f52020000)
libpthread.so.0 => /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libpthread.so.0 (0x00007f2f51e02000)
libgcc_s.so.1 => /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libgcc_s.so.1 (0x00007f2f51bea000)
libc.so.6 => /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libc.so.6 (0x00007f2f51821000)
/lib64/ld-linux-x86-64.so.2 (0x00007f2f53db6000)
libm.so.6 => /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libm.so.6 (0x00007f2f5151b000)
libstdc++.so.6 => /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libstdc++.so.6 (0x00007f2f511d1000)

Version 69.4.102 of the stable build client (which did not contain at all a libdropbox-nucleus and which was packaged with python3.6 libs) never crashes, but as soon as it connects it tries to update itself and then it's the same story.

Hi @papachric,

Your problem seems to be "libgtk3-nocsd0" package miss. Install it (either 32 or 64 bit) and try again. :wink:

Again, as many other, missing dependencies! Will we alive to see this fixed?!

Hope this helps.

PS: On Fedora, the package name is "gtk3-nocsd" (above is for Ubuntu).

@Здравко 😛 The vast majority of our users are on 64-bit, and the 32-bit client usually won't work unless you have 32-bit compatibility libs installed.

Regarding "Recently Changed Files" not showing up, there aren't any code differences that would make it work for 32-bit builds but not 64-bit builds. There are a couple different implementations of the Dropbox icon for different Linux desktop environments. Can post a picture of your 64-bit client menu so I can see what implementation you're using?

@papachric If installing libgtk3-nocsd0 doesn't help, do you think you can send me a core dump for the 64-bit client? My email is samer@dropbox.com.

Hi @samertm,

What here mean"vast majority"? Do you support Ubuntu and Fedora or not?! :thinking::nerd: Both of them have compatibility libraries which are installed automatically when needed. Your dependencies declaration (miss) correctness is another story.

About menu: There are not any icons, either on 32 or 64 bit version in the menu. Following are screenshots of my menu (currently 64-bit):

изображение.pngизображение.pngAs could be seen menu element is pointed, but no "trace" to any submenu.

Even more: About other "interesting" BUG (menu related) take a look here - https://www.dropboxforum.com/t5/Files-folders/Can-I-see-which-files-are-causing-sync-errors-via-my-D...

I'm using v86.4.146, but it's the same for a very long time.

libdropbox_nucleus.so depends on libgtk3-nocsd.so.0 which is part of libgtk3-nocsd0!!! So, think again!
