A dropbox link was sent to me with a Word doc. When I preview the document in Dropbox the content is slightly different than when I physically download the document (maybe an older version is displaying in preview...?). Can someone explain the reason for that? Thanks so much for your help in advance!

Hello there @HawkA, I hope you're well today!

If you haven't already, please check out the info Jay provided here.

Dropbox creates a preview of your files to enabled faster loading, which can sometimes mean that there may be some visual differences with the actual file.

I hope this helps, let me know if you have any questions!
