A shared file is synced for both people accessing it, but I can't see the other person's updates

Hello,

I have an issue with a file.

I have shared it with someone. I can see the green check on my side and on the other person's side.

However, when he changes something in the file, I cannot see it.

Why?

Did we do something wrong while sharing the file?

How should we share a file and be able to both edit it? (yes I did choose the editing option, so technically he can, but I don't see the editing he does.

Thanks for your help 🙂

Hey @estandre84, thanks for letting us know about this.

How exactly was this file shared? Did you include it in a folder and invited the other person to the folder?

Or did you send a link to just this file?

Also, if you check the file on our website, do you see the other person's changes there?

Keep me posted!

Dear Hannah,

Thank you for your quick reply.

In order to share the file, I used the "..." (three dots) and I clicked on "sharing" (on the website). Then I put the email address of the person, making sure he can modify things, and I sent it. I didn't send a link

I don't seem to see the changes on the website either.

Maybe there is an issue on the computer of the person I shared the file to? When he goes on the website, under "shared files", he doesn't see the "adding" button.

What should we do?

Thanks for your help

Thanks for the update here and happy Monday!

If you don't see this person's changes on the file on the website either, it means that there's probably something going on on their end.

What kind of file is this? Is it a Word document, for example?

Does this person see the file in the 'shared files' tab, just without the 'add' button?

And when they open the file, does your name also appear at the top right as a member/owner of the file?
