Account for Saving Text Files and backing up E-mails

My basic Dropbox will only allow me to save photos and videos.  I'd like to also save text files and backup e-mails.  How can I do that and what is the cost?

You can upload any file type into your Dropbox account, regardless of the file type or account plan.

Are you running into any specific errors when trying to upload these files into your existing account? Please send along a screenshot if you're getting any errors (excluding any personal info).
