Walter, Thanks for your reply, sorry for delay. Yes, I'm logged in as same person on both computers. But now think my son set up my old computer to sync with a local Dropbox folder, not the DropBox App. Can I do the same on this new machine. I saw a post somewhere about altering my Preferences to "Local Folder". Can you advise how to do this? I can see "Settings" on the website, but can't find Preferences.
Thanks for your clear explanation. I installed the Dropbox app (although first I had to unlink 8 old computers!). Then Dropbox downloaded my files to a Dropbox folder, on the same level as Documents, Pictures etc. There's a Dropbox icon on the taskbar, and a desktop shortcut to Dropbox. So everything looks OK!! Grateful for your virtual reassurance, very helpful when one's self-isolating. Keep safe everyone.
