All Dropbox files marked with gray x and won't open

Just reinstalled Dropbox on my desktop (Windows 10). Now all files are marked with a gray X and won't open. Dropbox Helpdesk says the problem is something in my system but offered no ideas.

Hi @Lynn Parsons, thanks for posting on the Community!

Do you have Smart Sync enabled on your account?

Could you try marking the files as local by right clicking the Dropbox folder, then Smart Sync, Local, to see if this helps?
