All my folders disappeared

I seem to have a serious problem:

  • For a year or so I have a Dropbox Plus account with a whole bunch of folders in it.
  • There is one foldes that has been shared by my father from his dropbox account to me.
  • About 3 weeks ago my laptop had to be repaired. For security reasons I disconnected the laptop from Dropbox and deleted the local Dropbox copy.
  • Today my laptop came back and I connected my Dropbox account again.
  • To my big surprise, all my folders were gone except for the one shared folder from my father.

I then logged in to Also there all my folders were gone.

When I went tot he “deleted files” tab, it only showed deleted files from the shared folder, not from my own , disappeared folders.

I then went to the Dropbox Events-page. Also there it only showed events in the shared folder.

Does anyone recognize this problem?

What you've mentioned there is strange indeed. If you're not seeing the folders being added to your account from the Events page, the it suggests that they weren't uploaded to your account. 

Just so that I can understand the situation a bit more clearly, can you let me know if these folders were showing the synced icon  next to them before removing them from your computer?

Did you check your account online at any point and see the folders there?

If you aren't able to locate any of those files, we would need to continue through Support to have a closer look into some account specific details.
