Please consider adding better functionality / user experience for Starred files.
Current problems:
1. Can't un-star multiple files.
E.g. https://www.dropboxforum.com/t5/Dropbox-files-folders/Selecting-all-starred-photos/td-p/256114
Personally, I have 96 starred files on the Home page — disorganized clutter. I thought maybe I could un-star multiple files at once if I could at least access their containing folders, but there's no way to get from the preview URL (e.g. https://www.dropbox.com/h?preview=Example.jpg) to the file's folder.
That creates a separate problem: if I can't access the whole set of files that starred item belongs to, it's useless.
2. Can't share starred items with others.
3. Can't sort by starred within folders. (Having them on Home page is not helpful, especially for the above reasons.)
This would be the best way to use stars; strange that it's impossible. Take a look at Dropmark for example: https://i.imgur.com/vf5TdyU.jpg — Likes are visible to all team members and you can sort by Likes within a folder. Extremely helpful for team workflow where communicating selects is vital.
Hi there @QMOS, thanks for posting your feedback on our starring feature here!
I was able to find this thread which suggested the capability of showing starred items in a shared folder, and this one which requested more sorting options.
As for your idea for unstarring multiple files in one go, could you post it separately?
That way, it can get the attention of other like-minded users and makes it easier for us to know which of your ideas they are voting for.
You can find more tips on how to post your ideas on Emma's thread.
In the meantime, if you have any other thoughts for us, don't hesitate to give us another nudge. Cheers!
