Blackened Sides of Video

Blackened Sides of Video

I made sure that each image spans the entire slide, so each photo is viewed full-screen. While the video takes up the whole span of the screen when viewed on VLC Player and QuickTime (which is what I want), the sides of the slides are blackened out when viewed on Dropbox (which I do not want). Please advise.

Details:

  1. I used Keynote to make and the record the slideshow
  2. I used 3:2 as the Slide Size in Keynote
  3. I exported a 1080p version and a 1024 X 768 version using Keynote, and the result was the same either way
  4. I have an iMac
  5. The first image is the one with blackened sides and is what I am trying to fix; the second image is what I want, but not what Dropbox produces

We’ll pass this suggestion to our dev team, however as Richard said above, the video is still untouched when downloaded and viewed on your machine directly.

The video container on the page isn't tall enough to allow the video to fill the playback canvas at the given aspect ratio - so it scales the video down and puts it in the middle of the canvas, hence the black bars.

There is no way you can change this for Dropboxes preview.

So, does this mean that when he downloads it it will be fine, that basically this is just a previewing issue?
