Re: How to change bandwidth

Can I change the bandwidth settings to help with download speeds from the website?

I am using the Web version of Dropbox on a new Mac Air and the download speeds are terrible for even small files. I don't mean just slow, I mean unusable. I've read that you can change the bandwidth but I don't see a network option in preferences. What can I do? Dropbox is the only app I have download problems with so it is not my Internet connection. Thx for any help.

Hi @CherylE1, thanks for posting!

The option to change the bandwidth settings would be for the desktop app syncing rather than downloading from the website.

To try and improve the speed, can you try the following to see if there's any difference?

  • Clear your browser cache and try again
  • Use an incognito/private browsing window
  • Use another web browser

Let me know what you find!
