Can I not choose multiple items by dragging the mouse anymore?

eru777

I used to be able to drag the mouse and select multiple items, now it seems it doesn't work anymore.

I have to manually select items by pressing control and manually clicking every item, which is laborious.

Why would anyone consider this an upgrade? Seems like a downgrade to me.

If you're just working within the Dropbox folder on your computer, then Dropbox has nothing to do with that. It's just a folder like any other on your computer, and your operating system would control how you select files.

Hey there @eru777, I'd be more than happy to help look into this!

Could you just clarify for me from which platform you're trying to multi-select items? Is it the website, the desktop app, the Dropbox folder, or the mobile app?

Let me know and I'll make sure to get back to you as soon as possible.

Thanks for confirming that for us, @eru777.

As @Rich said, if you're looking at the Dropbox folder on your computer, then you should be able to still click and drag to multi-select as this is an OS-based function.

If you're referring to the desktop app though, you can multi select items by either pressing:

  • Ctrl+A (Windows) or Command+A (Mac) to select all.
  • Clicking on the first item and then pressing Shift (Windows and Mac) before clicking on the last item to select a specific section of a list.

Yes you are right. I must have gotten it confused with the explorer of windows. Kind of redundant to be an explorer by itself though, if you can't do at least as much as you can on windows explorer.

Thanks for your help.
