Can I share a folder without moving it into the Dropbox root folder?

Can I share a folder without moving it into the Dropbox root folder?

My question seems so simple and obvious, yet I've been searching for a couple of hours and haven't found anything discussing it. Surely it must be in the FAQ! But, no... I'm sorry, I have to start a new discussion.

I have a godzillion .stl files--a filetype that can't be previewed in File Explorer. Some of them are accompanied by a .jpg serving as a preview; many are not.

A potential client wants to know if I have certain types of images that we could use for his project. The description of what he wants is vague. Could I look through my collection and see if there's anything like that, and send it to him to see if it's what he wants?

Uh... no.

But what he can do is look through the collection himself. I want to add the folder holding these images as a Dropbox shared folder. But I want to do it without copying or moving the folder into the Dropbox root folder.

Again, I apologize. This is bound to be asked multiple times every day, but I cannot find where it gets answered. Can this be done?

That's not currently possible. Dropbox only syncs the folders that are located in the Dropbox folder. The only way to do that currently is to copy your folder into the Dropbox folder and then share it.
