Can I share my account without letting someone download the files?

Explorer | Level 3

Hello,

I would like to know if it is possible to give access to my dropbox to a read-only user

Meaning without him being able to download any documents.

Is this possible and/or do I need an upgraded account? I have the free version only

Thank you for your answers.

Aurelien

Re: Disable download

Dropboxer

Hi there @Goldaurel, thanks for posting your question here.

In general, sharing an account with others is not recommended for security purposes.

What you can do is share the folders you want them to have access to, instead.

To have the option to disable downloads though, you'll have to send them the folders as a shared link (which is available to Professional and Business acounts).

Out of curiosity, would you like the other user to be able to edit the files as well?

Looking forward to hearing back from you!
