Can a shared (view) folder link be used to navigate elsewhere in my folders

Can a shared (view) folder link be used to navigate elsewhere in my folders

Hi, I created a link for sharing a folder full of images for a web discussion forum using the share folder dialog.

Can someone who uses that link to view the folder's contents then navigate to other folders above or beside it in my hierarchy?

Since I'm the individual account holder and dropbox is on all my devices, I can navigate easily elsewhere of course when I use the view link.  I cannot find an absolute statement in the docs about this issue.

Thanks,

L

Hi @LouieInDurham, thanks for posting on the Community!

Are you referring to a shared folder on your account, or a shared link, since the functionality is a little different.

In general, it won't be possible to go above the folder. You can try testing this on an incognito window when you're not signed into your Dropbox account.

If you need any more details, feel free to message back!
