When I try to create a link to file, I get the following message "You don't have permission to create link to this content". How do I fix this?

Thanks for the answer. The problem has been resolved. This happened due to a lot of traffic. After upgrading tariff plan from Basic to Plus, the ability to create links resumed.

Hi @IreneHelix, thanks for joining the Community!

I'm sorry to hear about this. Are you experiencing this issue on any file in your Dropbox account?

Are these files located in a shared folder owned by another user?

Keep me posted!

Hi, I have the same problem, can you please share with me the solution? I can't share any file or folder in my dropbox, even I'm the owner, it shows me "couldn't copy the link. You don't have permission to create a link to this content"

Please.

I'm having similar problem.

Clicking the link symbol and it just sits in a loop at "Getting a link" at the bottom of the screen and the dropbox wheel spins round and round for as long as i leave it.

Also when I click the box with the arrow up to share a folder the three dots just cycle round and round.  No progress made.

I"ve also clear the Browser cache and restarted 😉

Hey @ryancrosson, thanks for nudging us on this post.

Have you tried from a different browser or from an incognito/private browsing window, to see if it works?

Let me know what you find!
