Can't delete or extract zipped files

Can't delete or extract zipped files

teritee

I have some zipped backup files I need to delete, but the only option is to open them. However, when I try to do that I get an error message saying file can't be extracted. I have a free account and don't need to upgrade. Thanks for any suggestions.

Hi @teritee, thanks for joining the Community!

If you're viewing the files in your own Dropbox account, you should be able to select the file using the checkbox on the left, and then delete it, which can be done from the files page.

Additionally, with the Dropbox desktop application installed, you can delete the file from Explorer/Finder.

Keep me updated with any progress!

I only used the online version before, and when I log in to Dropbox on my computer, it shows nothing there. What to do?

Are you certain you've logged into the correct account on the Dropbox desktop application?

What happens when you try the steps I mentioned to delete the files online?

Yes, I double-checked the account. Can't accomplish any of the steps mentioned.

Please could you forwards screenshots on where you're trying to delete the files from, are you certain you're on the files page

The checkbox should appear when you hover over a file, selecting that will allow you to see the option to delete a file.
