Can't disconnect my Downloads folder

Can't disconnect my Downloads folder

New member | Level 2

Hi all.

I downloaded the desktop application today to share some files with a friend of mine and acidentally syncronized (sry for my bad english) my Desktop, Downloads and Documents folders. Now I can't disconnect my Downloads folder, even after disconnecting my PC from my account. Every time I try to save something it gets saved in C:\Users\---\Dropbox\Mein PC (LAPTOP)\Downloads.

Even after deleting Dropbox from my laptop. Deleting the Dropbox folder doesn't help since after deleting it, a new one appears.

please help me

Hi Daphne!

Thanks for answering. Stopping Dropbox via Task Manager and getting rid of the Desktop folder seemes to fix it!

Hi @funkystuff, thanks for reaching out to us here!

Since you've already unlinked the desktop app from your account, the feature should now be disabled.

Could you clarify for me, when you mentioned disconnecting the computer from your account did you unlink the app or uninstall?

I can suggest taking both actions and reinstalling the app as new if you haven't already to see if that does the trick.

Keep me posted!
