Changes made to Dropbox Word doc on Mac not saved

New member | Level 2

I save my class notes to the Dropbox folder on my Mac. It has always worked fine. Last Saturday, I was working on the document as usual and I did work offline for a few hours. I saved the document consistently, as I always do. All of that work has been lost - I cannot find it anywhere, even in the version history on Dropbox. On the events list on Dropbox, it appears as though I did not do any work on the document last Saturday. However, the work I did on Monday does indeed appear.

To sum up, I still have the document, on my Mac and on Dropbox, but the work I did on the document last Saturday is not reflected in the document.

Can anyone help me retreive the work I did on Saturday? Is there a way I can retreive the document on my Mac somewhere else?

Thanks!

If you were working offline the file cant and wont have sync'd to Dropbox, but, it should still be in the folder on your computer - as that is all it is, a folder.

If you then updated the file from a different location on the Monday you may find a Conflicted Copy has the work in. If, however, you used the same Mac and updated it on the Monday and versions which hadnt saved/become conflicts have almost certainly been lost.

www.dropbox.com/events may give you some more clues.
