Deleted but not deleted 8.5 instead of 2,75 GB

New member | Level 2

Hello everybody,

almost a year ago I deleted my files on dropbox in order to move to another place. By accident I visited dropbox today and found my dropbox account almost exploding: Instead of 2.75 GB my account contains 8.35 GB: "Your dropbox is full."

My problem: I am doubled - several files had been left on dropbox in August last year - how to find them in 8.35 GB of files.

My question: What went wrong with my deleting of files in August, having them back or being still there - is this order to delete be repeatable ?

Thank you in advance for giving some intelligent hints.

Best wishes from Bavaria wthout Oktoberfest.

Matt

Hi @Matt31, thanks for joining the Community!

Did you originally delete the files from the Dropbox site directly, via the mobile app, or the Dropbox folder on your computer?

If you delete files via the app, you need to allow it time to sync those deletions to the site.

One possibility for the duplication is that you're a member of a shared folder that other users have added files to. You can see the breakdown of the private and shared folders here.

Keep me posted!
