Deleted files indexing extremely slow

Deleted files indexing extremely slow

Helpful | Level 5

Hi,

Several days ago I deleted a folder, and after that Dropbox is sincyng (indexing) at an extremely slow rate, about 10,000 files per day. The folder contained over 2,000,000 files, so at this rate it will take forever. What can I do to speed up the process (apart from allowing unlimited bandwidth, which I already did)?

Thanks,

Serafin

Dropbox doesnt actually play well at over 300,000 files so I think the database may have become corrupt.

If i'm honest I'd say you need to trash the current settings and rebuild the databases again from scratch. You can do that by unlinking, reinstalling to the newest version of the app and relinking.

Hi Mark,

Thanks for your message.

I already tried that.

I unlinked my computer and tried to delete that folder via browser, but it said too many files. So I tried to delete its content in batches, but wouldn't let me open it either, it'd simply said "There was a problem completing this request". I tried different browsers, clearing my cache, going incognito... but nothing :-/
