Deleting files after deleting app

Deleting files after deleting app

Problem solved, it was just a coincidence.

Hi! I have a problem. My colleague deleted Dropbox app from his computer, but it still was showing about 12TB of files. So I tried to delete it from ~/.dropbox. After deleting about 800000 files I stopped the process, because I was afraid that it can delete files from actual Dropbox. Then it started to sync about 800000 files on my Mac. Is it possible that it (his Dropbox app) was not fully removed? How can I check if these files are really removed (site it not showing any actions like this)?

Hi @Maciek1, thanks for posting on the Community!

I'm glad to hear you resolved this matter already.

Could you let me know what the coincidence was, in case this could help other users?

At the same time as my colleague was deleting files, I synced (still do not know when) other folders (which were not synced before). The number of files was almost the same, so I was a little bit afraid about it...

Thanks for the update, and it's an odd combination of files being added and deleted at the same time, so I can understand the confusion!

If you need any further assistance in future, please let me know. Enjoy the rest of your week!
