Desktop app made me sign in again, now it's resyncing everything

I didn't update my OS or Dropbox app, but it made me sign in again, and now it is resyncing all my files. These files still exist on the DB server, I can get to them through the website. How do I relink to the files already there? I'm concerned this new resync will be stored somewhere other than the already synced files.

Just to make sure we're on the same page, could you let me know some additional information about this and send us the app's exact status as shown in your system tray/menu bar at the moment?

Once we have that, we'll be able to assist further.

Mac OS Big Sur v11.2.3

Shot of the status below. Before this happened, all 97,000+ files were synced, now it's resyncing them all even though they're all still on the dropbox server. The server shows no new files automatically synced after 9/16/21, when the desktop app had me log in again.

Could you please try fixing your hardlinks and permissions as outlined here and let me if it helped improve matters?

I fixed hardlinks and permissions and it did not help. It is still resyncing everything in my dropbox folder.

At this point, I'd suggest a clean, advanced reinstall.

During that process, you'll get to choose which folders you'd like to be synced locally to your computer through the Advanced settings.

I let the syncing run and all seems well now. I don't know if fixing the hardlinks and permissions helped or not. Thanks for your help.
