Desktop/documents/not enough storage

New member | Level 2

Hello,

Recently I installed dropbox on my Mac and when uninstalling it, it deleted my desktop and documents. On Mac when I click "Go" on the bar and try to click "documents" or "desktop" it says the original file can't be found. I have also noticed that when trying to download something from internet, I said I don't have enough storage on my computer which is not correct. How do I uninstall dropbox while preserving all my documents and bringing back my storage to normality as well as desktop.

Hi there @Lorena5, I'm sorry to hear about that!

Can you clarify for me, when you uninstalled Dropbox did you also delete the local Dropbox folder? If so, can you try restoring this from the Trash temporarily to see if that does the trick?

Otherwise, can you check in Finder under "User" if the Documents and Desktop folders appear there? Are they possibly hidden?

Let me know and we'll go from there!
