Different number of files on two synced laptops

Different number of files on two synced laptops

PTAa
Helpful | Level 6

Hello group,

I have two laptops running same version of Windows 10,

and the latest version of Dropbox.

Both are synced to the same Dropbox account.

When hovering the mouse over the Dropbox icon, status indicates "up to date".

When I display Properties of the two Dropbox folders on the two laptops,

I get the same number of folders, but always different number of files.

One laptop has 45.956 files, the other  45.982.

Why the difference?

Ideas, someone?

The hidden .dropbox.cache folder is located within the Dropbox folder, and would be different on each system.
