Dropbox Basic on my laptop all files were absorbed and no longer available

Dropbox Basic was installed on my laptop and during that process I sinqued as asked. Now all my files, pdfs, and work saved in these folders has disappered. The folders appear in Dropbox but the majority are empty! Whats is more I am being informed that my storage space is full on Dropbox and Onedrive. How do I retrieve my files? I have already tried various helpline options to recouporate them but this does not work.

Do you know if you enabled the computer backup option on your machine, where the Desktop, Downloads and Documents folders were synced to the site?

Are you able to locate any deleted files on the Dropbox site to recover them?
