Dropbox Paper and Hook Links

Dropbox Paper and Hook Links

Hi All,

I'm relatively new to using Dropbox Paper so forgive me if I'm asking questions that have already been answered. I've done some searching in the forums but I can't find the info I'm looking for. For reference, I'm using Dropbox Paper (v 2.5.0 beta) on a macOS (11.2.3).

I would like to know if Dropbox Paper works with Hook for macOS. Currently, when I link some text in Dropbox Paper using a Hook link for a  local file or folder, Dropbox Paper tries to open the link in the browser. It should open the corresponding local file or folder in Finder. Are Hook links unsupported? This is what a Hook link looks like: hook://file/xHXs4SCI.PDF. I suspect that Dropbox Paper is prepending "https://" to my Hook links. Is there are workaround for this?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi @dlh2109, thanks for posting on the Community!

Currently, Dropbox Paper only supports standard HTML links to websites, and not URI links that would open up a local application.

If you wish, you can suggest this change for others to vote on, so the dev team can look into this in future!
