Dropbox Sync only :can't save files or open from an application

Dropbox sync only: Paid home subscription. Win 10:  I can't save files says the file in inuse, and also can't open any file from an application. I need to goto Dropbox online download it  to my local machine, then open it. Dropbox please help and fix this.  Very inconvenient and not why I use Dropbox.

Hi @Robin W.16; thanks for the post and happy Monday!

Just to make sure we're on the same page, can you please send me a screenshot of the exact error you get?

Also, can you send us the app's exact status as shown in your system tray

Since your account supports Smart Sync, can you clarify if this happens for files that are set to be 'local' through the Smart Sync feature or 'online only'?
