Dropbox business files not showing in Mac Finder

New member | Level 2
New member | Level 2

My boss has signed me up for Dropbox Business account, which I now have in addition to my Dropbox personal account. The business account folders and files refuse to show up in Finder on my Mac. I have linked my personal and business accounts and relaunched Finder but it has made no difference. Also, when I click on the Dropbox icon in Finder (right up to the top right, next to the search bar) it simply says "no options available". It is very frustrating as DB was working fine before this and now it is basically unusable. I mean, I can muddle part way through by moving files into dropbox.com, but I can't extract word docs to work on them.

Hi there @energyman

Welcome to the Dropbox Community! Let's see what we can do here.

As a first step, could you please confirm if you've followed the steps outlined in this article to sign in to your personal and work accounts on your device?

If you have, could you please send me a screenshot (without any personal info) of the error message that you mention?

Let me know of any updates!

Thanks for that. I can confirm I have taken those steps. Here's a screenshot of the message I get when I click on the DB icon in Finder. Also, there is no DB icon on the menu bar of my Mac, so that's perhaps part of the same problem.Screen Shot 2019-10-14 at 9.00.11 PM.jpg

Thanks for the screenshot, @energyman! Definitely gives a better visual of what you're seeing.

If you don't see the Dropbox icon in your menu bar, it means that the desktop app isn't running. This would also explain why you don't see any of your files in your Finder as they haven't synced (yet).

Could you try manually relaunching the Dropbox desktop app from your Applications menu and see if that does the trick?

Let me know how it goes!
