Dropbox creates copies of photos being uploaded, on the original machine

How do I stop Dropbox making copies of photos, on the laptop from which it is uploading the original photos?  Or once it is synced can I delete these copies, without it effecting the originals? The copies take as much space as the originals and are filling my hard drive.

Thank you for your help

Hi there @TonyMars44, welcome to the Dropbox Community, I'd be more than happy to help look into this with you!

I'll just need a bit more info to make sure we're on the same page, such as:

  • How are you originally uploading these photos to your Dropbox account?
  • Are you by any chance using the camera uploads feature?
  • Do the copies appear in the same folder or in a different location?

Any other details would be very helpful. Thanks!
