I made a link to a directory:
test -> /files/test/
/files/test/ and its content got the right permissions but on the dropbox console via the browser "test" looks like that:
A flying saucer ? If I click on it I get this:
If a make a link to a file it seems okay. Dropbox see the file - nice !
But if I click on it:
Dropbox see an empty file
Thank you Здравко !
"As of mid-2019, Dropbox no longer follows items outside of your Dropbox account that are linked to by a symlink."
What an improvement !
Even if the links were still available (prior to mid 2019) it will be no use as Dropbox can only read it own files.
Dropbox can only read file from an other user or group if the write permission is set for its group or others.
That's a shame as Dropbox would have been a great tool in conjunction with SSHFS/NFS access on server
You can use remote access still, but have to care about the context in which the access gets performed. If the context match that of Dropbox application - no problem.
