Same thing happened to me this morning. Been working for years, now I get the phrase "There was an issue communicating with your photo library..." Reset my password, opened and closed my iPhone app. Restarted my iPhone. Still doesn't work. I also use Amazon Photos and the files uploaded there fine.

Have you tried clearing the app's cache?
To do so, please follow the steps listed below:
- Navigate to the “Account” tab
- Tap the gear icon in the upper-left corner of the screen
- Scroll to the bottom of the screen
- Select “Clear Cache” under "Privacy"
