Dropbox error in communicating with photo linrary

Dropbox error in communicating with photo linrary

Hi!
I've been uploading my photos through auto camera uploads for the past few years. Today when i tried uploading my photos, received the following error message: error in communicating with photo library.

I'm currently on ios system. Checked the privacy settings on my phone and permission to all photos is granted. Tried restarting my phone but no use too.

Has anyone experienced this too and have any solutions?

Same thing happened to me this morning.  Been working for years, now I get the phrase "There was an issue communicating with your photo library..."    Reset my password, opened and closed my iPhone app.  Restarted my iPhone.   Still doesn't work.     I also use Amazon Photos and the files uploaded there fine.

Hey @Meisalien and @KenZ_GA, thanks for reporting this issue here, much appreciated!

Does the issue remain on your end? If it does, feel free sending me a screenshot with the error you get on your end, since I'm interested to have a look.

Looking forward to hearing back from you.

I’m having the same issue - started a few days ago in the mobile app. I’ve rebooted my phone, checked all the settings but nothings fixed it yet. It’s a scrolling message at the top of my screen in the Dropbox app saying there’s an error communicating with my photo library.

I've just installed iOS 14.5 and this seems to have resolved the issue...

Just wanted to check if you still have the message on your end @Jbfowlertx

If you're still seeing it, could you try uninstalling and re-installing the app?

Keep me posted!

Having the same issue. Deleted and reinstalled the app on my phone, and that has appeared to fix the problem.

Hi Lori,
I'm still having an issue with uploading my photos. I deleted the app and redownloaded the app. After doing that, I was able to upload my photos. However once I switched apps, my uploads stopped. When I went back to Dropbox, my photos stopped uploading, the total number of photos to upload left disappeared and it had the error message looking for photos... The message has been shown for the past few minutes. Usually takes less than a minute for Dropbox to detect my un-uploaded photos

Hey @Meisalien, thanks for posting your question here!

Have you tried clearing the app's cache?

To do so, please follow the steps listed below:

- Navigate to the “Account” tab
- Tap the gear icon in the upper-left corner of the screen
- Scroll to the bottom of the screen
- Select “Clear Cache” under "Privacy"

Let me know how this works for you. In case it doesn't, feel free to send me a screenshot with the message you see within the app.

Thanks.
