Dropbox is full even though I never use my dropbox?

Dropbox is full even though I never use my dropbox?

I keep getting emails saying that my DropBox is almost full and now I have been receiving emails saying that it is full and I need to purchase an upgrade.

The issue is that I never ever use my dropbox. It looks like files from my work dropbox have somehow been syncing with my personal dropbox?

I'm too scared to go through and delete these from my personal dropbox as I don't want it to also delete the files in my works dropbox as the files are extremely important!! How do I fix this!?

I wish there was a way to call DropBox. I have no idea how such a large company like this has no phone support. It blows my mind!

Thanks crew

Hi @BakWill29, thanks for messaging today!

It sounds like you're a member of a shared folder that is taking up all the quota on your account.

You can leave the folder using these steps, either temporarily or permanently, and that will free up your quota, without affecting the other users on the shared folder.

Regarding phone support, currently, we only provide incoming phone support for team admins of Dropbox Business subscriptions.

If you need any more details, feel free to message back!

Thank you! Am I doing this through my personal dropbox or through my works dropbox?

You'll need to do this through your personal Dropbox account, since this is the account that has run out of space.

Thank you Jay! I did this and also deleted everything in my dropbox but it still says that I need to upgrade my account to 2TB? Or does it just take a while to refresh?

I just realized you're writing from a different username, so you're probably signed into another account.

Depending on how much you're deleting, it could take a short time for the deletion to sync to your account, if doing it via the desktop app.

Deleting via the site would be faster, but again, can vary in speed if there's a lot of files to delete.

Are you now below your quota level on your personal account?

My plan currently gives me 2TB of space of which I am only using about 7%. Nevertheless I frequently receive emails from yourselves that "My Dropbox is full and is no longer syncing", although it is syncing fine. How do I make the emails stop?

Hi @DaveR, happy Friday!

I've merged you into the current thread, since another user also expressed a similar concern.

Could you check Jay's response, and also make sure that the email address you're receiving that email from is the same one you use for your Dropbox account?

Thanks!
