Dropbox online-only files are indexed extremely slowly by the Windows 10 search indexer

Dropbox online-only files are indexed extremely slowly by the Windows 10 search indexer

Windows 10 is indexing my Dropbox folder, but my online-only files take forever to index (10-20seconds per file with 36466 files to go).

This has performance implications because the windows indexer is trying real hard to work on these files which decreases the battery life.

Is there a way I can make Windows index these files faster?

Hi @tabataba, thanks for posting on the Community!

In general, the search would continue without issue, even if the files were marked as online-only.

However, this wouldn't be something we can troubleshoot since this appears to be related to a Windows issue directly, and not Dropbox.

I'd recommend getting in contact with Microsoft support for further assistance on this matter.
