Dropbox syncing, but not uploading files

Explorer | Level 4

Hi, I have the following issue. My dropbox account on the main computer stopped uploading files; however, it is still synced somewhat it seems. (Whenever I upload files from another computer, the files are accessible on my main computer) Over the past few weeks, I have created many files in my research, which I need to access on other computers. For the past few hours, Dropbox on my main computer says it is "syncing" with no progress. I have done the following:

  1. Checked that there are no bandwidth limits on uploads
  2. Exited out of the dropbox app
  3. Relinked my accounts

What might be going on?

Hello @nzarra.

Sorry to hear you are facing a syncing issue. I will help you figure this out.

A few questions for you:

  • What is the version of Dropbox installed on this device?
  • Do you have blue syncing icons on all your files or specific ones?
  • What is the version of your Operating system?

Thank you for the additional information.

Hi,

I currently have v88.4.172.  On my main computer, I have blue syncing icons on all files and my OS is Windows 10 Home version 1903.

Thanks,

Nick

I see. So, updated to our latest stable version. Let's start with rebooting the device and let me know the exact syncing status you see checking the Dropbox icon on your system tray.

Does it report to be going through an update?

Was any action performed (a deletion, edition or movement) before your files started syncing?

If a number of files is reported there, please let me know the exact number of files.
