Dropbox syncing folder already excluded via Selective Sync on Ubuntu

Explorer | Level 4

Hi, I have a folder, call it A, that I have excluded using Selective Sync on Ubuntu.

According to this article, once this folder has been successfully excluded and removed from my machine and kept online, I should be able to create another folder called A in its place on my machine, and this new folder will NOT be sync'ed by Dropbox. This is the behavior I want.

The article then says that IF I try to sync the original folder again to my machine, then the new folder I created would get renamed by appending the "(Selective Sync Conflict)" to the end.

The behavior I am observing is that Dropbox is renaming the folder without me actually resyncing the original folder to my machine.

The desired behavior has always worked for me until at least a week or two ago. Now it doesn't work however, and I believe it may be a bug.

Anyone else running into this or any thoughts on how to resolve it?

Thanks

Thanks Здравко! That worked for me and allowed me to tell Dropbox to ignore local folders/files and not sync them to the cloud.
