Dropbox is not syncing on my desktop. Everything syncs in the cloud and on my laptop -- it seems to be an issue specific to the desktop machine, but the desktop also works perfectly in all other regards. When I sign into dropbox on the web on the desktop, I can see all the files in the cloud, but they simply do not download to the machine.
So far, I have tried various permutations of restarting the machine, uninstalling and reinstalling dropbox, pausing and unpausing syncing.
Hi @DBuser3, thanks for messaging the Community!
Could you clarify what is exactly happening when you open the Dropbox desktop application?
What is the syncing status you see when hovering over the icon in the system tray near the clock?
Keep me posted!

Hi Jay,
Thank you for the response.
It says "Dropbox 102.4.431 Syncing..." when I hover over the icon.
Are all the files in the Dropbox showing the blue icon for syncing, or only some of them?
Could you try the steps in this thread to fix the hardlinks in the Dropbox folder?

Thanks, Jay. Unfortunately, that did not solve the problem. Right now, no files show up in the dropbox -- the folder appears empty on the desktop (so no files have a blue syncing icon).
Thanks for the info, in that case, there is a possibility that a proxy, VPN, firewall, security software, or even ISP/router issues that could be restricting traffic to the following Dropbox domains, and thus preventing any form of syncing via the app.
I'd recommend temporarily disabling any of these apps to see if they could help locate the issue.

Thank you again for all the help. Disabling firewalls and such also did not fix the problem.
At this point, I think I will just have to give up on using DB on this particular machine. Whatever the problem is, it must be something really obscure.
