Until recently I was able to open Excel files from Dropbox on my iPhone. Now the message "downloading" appears with a spinning wheel but the file never downloads. Attempting to cancel the download has the same response. Using Numbers has the same effect. I have deleted and downloaded the Excel app but this does not fix the problem.
Hi there @Stuart C.8,
I'd be more than happy to help look into this!
As a first step, could you please clarify if you're downloading it from your mobile device's web browser or from the mobile app?
Could you also send me a screenshot (without any personal info) of the error message that you see?
Thanks in advance!
Welcome to the Dropbox Community!
Initially, could you let me know if you've tried connecting your device to a different WiFi connection?
Could you also clarify if you are able to access the file through a web browser by any chance?
Let me know what you find!
I am having the same issue where my excel is not downloading. My phone is a Google Pixel 2. I am using the app. It used to work but doesn't anymore. What is the best way to fix this?
Hello @Umpa18, thanks for nudging us here.
I just wanted to check with you if you've had a look at @Stuart C.8's suggestion - are you still having trouble with this?
If you are, could you provide us with a bit more info on the behavior, along with any screenshots of any error messages (without personal info) so as to have a better understanding?
Keep us posted!
The file is still showing that is downloading from Dropbox. It was running for 5 minutes and nothing is happening. I reistalled the app to see if it will fix the issue but it didn't. What other fixes can there be?
Thanks for the screenshot, @Umpa18.
Hmm. Just to ensure troubleshooting, could you try connecting to a different WiFi?
If that doesn't do the trick, maybe a reboot will.
Let me know how it goes!
