Hey @Bombashak, thanks for posting your question here!

Can you locate your Dropbox icon (on the menu bar, next to your WiFi) and let me know the status of your app?

Do you see any errors when you open the file?

Keep me posted!

Hey @Bombashak, thank you for the added info!

When you try previewing the file on your iMac, do you get any errors?

Does this happen with one particular file?

Hey Lori, thx for your help. I have previewing. Not a problem. If i make a double click on this file it takes some seconds and afterwards Excel failed. It is only the one particular file...others can be opened without problems.

Hey @Bombashak, thanks for writing back to me!

To help isolate this issue, could you please try quitting the Dropbox application by using the following steps:

- Click the Dropbox icon on your menu bar
- Click on your profile picture or initials to the right of the search bar and select "Quit Dropbox"

While the app is still closed, can you try opening the same file, and see how it behaves?

Keep me posted!

Hey Lori,

Well, fact is, that the file also cannot be opened when the Dropbox is quitted.

Hey @Bombashak!

You'd also want to make sure your file is synced locally, and not online-only. You can check more on this here.

However, since the issue persists when Dropbox is completely closed, this suggests that the cause is related to something outside of the Dropbox application. You may want to check other applications or components of your Operating System that could be causing this.

Let me know if you have any other issues! Thanks!
