File extension names being changed by Dropbox

File extension names being changed by Dropbox

New member | Level 2

Hi All.

My graphic designer just sent me a bunch of adobe illustrator files, but when I go to open them, the file name has changed to have .ai.icloud at the end?
It cant see that they are illustrator files and we are now worried we've lost two weeks work....

HELP!

Hi @Kaz Jensen; welcome to our Community!

Are you seeing this on the website or on your computer or mobile device?

Can you please let me know how were those files shared with you to begin with and how they preview on your graphic designer's end?

They seem to have been shared from iCloud directly, hence the extension, so it might worth checking with them on this for more information on how to preview those files.

Keep me posted on your findings, anyhow, Kaz.
