File request vs sharing link

File request vs sharing link

I've looked through every post and question, but can't seem to find a definitive answer. I have a Dropbox account, but need to allow others to download photos to a specific folder in my account. Is File Request the only way I can do this, or can I simply send them a shared link to that folder? Either way, do they need to have a Dropbox account?

Hi @jcm48

File Requests is a way of somebody sending YOU information - thats what you send people when you want them to upload something to you.

Shared links are what you send to people to give THEM information.

You do not need a Dropbox account for either of these, but, may need to tap ESC or the X in top right to close a screen offering them an opportunity to join or log in.
