Files saved in dropbox will not open from file explorer (windows 10)

Files saved in dropbox will not open from file explorer (windows 10)

Hello,

We recently installed dropbox on a new computer (win 10) and since that time, files will no longer open from windows explorer at all. If an excel file is double-clicked, the hourglass appears and explorer becomes "unresponsive" until eventually we have to close it due to inability to load the file.

We uninstalled and reinstalled dropbox app to no avail. If we open the file via the dorpbox app it opens fine.  HELP!?  Could it be related to a recent installation on a Microsoft account on new computer (possibly with same microsoft account credentials)?

Thanks!

Hello @happenstance, let's see what we can do here.

Could it be that there's a third party app, like an antivirus or a security app, that's affecting this function?

Try temporarily closing them and let me know if that improves the behavior.

Also, have a look and see if you have any pending OS updates.

Let me know how it goes, thanks!
