Folder Sharing and Space

Highlighted

Folder Sharing and Space

Explorer | Level 3

I have a free account with the default 4GB of space. But my friend has a professional account, with lots of space. He created and shared a filder with me, so I can upload some very large files into it. I've been uploading for a day now, but my Dropbox now tells me that it's full. And yet, according to the upload manager, the upload is continuing. There are now two large files in that folder which exceed 11 GB. So, will he get all my files (which are 80 GB total), or am I forced to upgrade my own account first?

Hey @decameron2000! Thanks for posting about this.

The upload must be stuck at this point and the only way for it to continue would be to have enough space.

If you don't wish to upgrade to a paid Dropbox, you can do the following:

  1. Cancel the upload.  I know..
  2. Remove your access from the shared folder to drop your storage space and stop the error from showing up.
  3. Have the other user share a file request with you. This way you will upload to their folder without affecting your account.

You can earn up to 16 GB of free Dropbox storage.

How can I earn some free space on my Dropbox account?

Ping me for all your questions nd feedback. Thanks!
