Full drop-box because of synced photos

Hello,

I have received multiple messages saying my DropBox storage is almost full. I think it is because I have somehow synced so that my photos are in my dropbox as well as in my Photos app on my mac. Can I remove my photos from DropBox without affecting my Photos application and how can I do this and stop it from syncing again in the future?

Can you confirm for me, if you check the the Photos folder on your computer, do you see Dropbox sync icons on the files there?

Otherwise, were the files added to the "Camera uploads" folder in your Dropbox folder?
