Getting an error when attempting to open a file on Excel Online

Getting an error when attempting to open a file on Excel Online

BamJ

Up until an hour ago I was able to open my excel file on the web.

It now says "We're sorry, we couldn't open your workbook. It's possibly corrupt or using a file format that's not supported".

However the file is supported and I have not changed any settings or done anything out of the ordinary.

I have tried:

Logging in and out.

Restoring an older version (it says it is not completely be restored and some data will be lost).

Rebooting my computer.

Signing in on a different user.

Re-uploading a different excel file and checking if the problem persists with a different file (it does).

Hi @BamJ, thanks for messaging the Community!

Let's see what could be causing this issue on your device.

Have you made any recent updates to the browser on the device? Could you try switching browsers to see if this helps?

Otherwise, you can try using incognito/private browsing mode without any extensions running, clearing your cache and even resetting your browser entirely.

Keep me updated with any progress!
