HELP - Dropbox has taken over my PC !!!

I recently upgraded on a trial basis to a better package which I have since cancelled.

Now all I have is that everything is sync'd through Dropbox, which I do not want or need.

 

A folder was set up along the lines of "C:\Users\xxxxx\Dropbox\My PC (LAPTOP-MBVI41NA)" which is still there, despite deleting in several times.

 

All I want is to go back to how I had things originally, where only a few things were sync'd to Dropbox, namely my phone camera photos, screenshots and a few other bits.

 

I hope someone can help me before I throw my laptop out of the window !! 🙂

Hey @smudge18, welcome to the Dropbox Community!

It sounds like you enabled the computer backup feature on your Dropbox application.

You can disable it by following the steps in this article.

Hi Hannah and thank you for that. The option in my Preferences tab is different to what is in the help file. Subsequently, the issue is still there.

This is vey frustrating... so any further help would be greatly appreciated 🙂

Hi @smudge18, could you clarify on what is different in your Preferences page?

Thanks for the image, since it says 'Set up', it means it's disabled.

Could you try these steps to restore the default locations for the folders?
