Hide / Disable "Link Settings" until after a Link is Created

New member | Level 2

Using the Dropbox app on Windows 10, when I right click on a file and choose "share", the dialogue box provides options for "link settings" and "create link". If I click the link settings option, it takes me to a useless dialogue since I can't configure a link that doesn't exist. Please disable link settings until after a link has been created.

Hey @adamlach86, if you haven’t created a link already, this should be detailed on the pop-up box with the shared link settings that appears upon clicking.

That said, I’d happily pass your feedback along, since it looks like you’d prefer this option to be grayed out & appear only after you generate the link. In order to give your Idea a bit more visibility, I have now moved your comment under the Share an Idea section 💡, where others could also upvote 🗳️ your thread to show their support.

Let me know if you have more questions or thoughts. Thanks!
