How can I get people to send files to me?

Explorer | Level 3

Hi everyone,
I have 25 friends who want to send me a 3 to 5 minutes Video about our best friend who just died. The files are Too big to email and thusly I was told to open a drop box. I have opened a drop box with my Iphone and am ready to go.

My question!! What instructions do I send my friends over email, so they can send the videos to my Dropbox ?!!
Thank you so much !

Hi @SteveyellenTt, thanks for joining the Community!

I'm sorry to hear about the circumstances on this matter. If your friends don't have their own Dropbox accounts, the simplest method would be for you to create a file request. You can share that link to them so that they can upload files directly into your Dropbox account.

Bear in mind that depending on your current plan, your quota and daily bandwidth limit will vary, so you might run into issues if the files are large.

Let me know if you have any further questions!

Okay, I see your answer, send my friends a file request. When they get the file request, what do they do? Thx!

PS. Love drop box!

The file request allows them to upload a file, and type their email, which will then tell them if the upload was successful.

They don't need a Dropbox account in order to do so. You should see the files in the folder on your account.
