How can I share with others specific folders and will they get notifications for all?

New member | Level 2

Hello.

I have created a top-level folder with 11 sub-folders. I have 14 people I need to add to all of these folder and only 9 of the people are to be added to 7 of the folders. My question is: is there a way to add them accordingly without them receiving a notifiation that they've been added to each folder? A second question is whether the have to be added to the top-level folder?

Thanks in advance.

Hey @dsandovalNWP, thanks for checking in with us on the Dropbox Community.

To answer your first question, each user will receive a notification only for each folder they get added to and, currently, there's no option to manage this from your end.

As for your second query, from what I understand, you're referring to team folders. In this case, what you can do is:

  • Add the nine people you want to gain access to the main folder, so that they can have access to the subfolders.
  • Add the rest of the users individually to each subfolder you want them to have access to.

You can find more info about team folders in this article.

Hope this helps!
