How do I free up disk space? Smart sync is activated but the files are still in my mac

Hi there, I am using dropbox for business and the problem I am encountering is that even with smart sync activated, the files are still occupied in my Mac. How do I regain space for my Mac without accidentally deleting the files that are stored in dropbox. I am tempted to delete the dropbox app for my Mac and I wonder if this is a bad decision. Could you please help?

Hello there @therealbearrister - welcome to our Community and thanks for using Dropbox!

Could you please let me know where exactly are you spotting this discrepancy?

Also, can you send me a screenshot of how your Dropbox folder and its content looks like to check your syncing icons?

If the app shows to be 'up to date' in your menu bar, this space might be taken up by the cache folder.

In any case, please keep me posted.
