How do I remove access for a user to a subfolder within a shared folder?

Hi All,

I have a shared folder for our company with 12 users, I have set up a 'HR' folder that I only want the 3 bosses to be able to access. However when I click on the name icons, all it does is go to share and gives the message 'This folder can only be shared as a link because it’s in a shared folder.'

I don't want to share to additional people, but remove access from the 9 people who have automatically been given access

Hi @AmyD, thanks for reaching out.

If you are on a Business team that's part of the new team space, you can remove user’s access to the subfolders.

However, if you're on an individual account, it's not possible to remove a user's access from a subfolder that's in a shared folder they've already been added to.

What you can do is create that HR folder outside of the shared folder, and add the three users to it.

I hope this helps, but let me know if you have any other questions. Cheers!
